Northeast Hamilton welcomes new board members

The Northeast Hamilton Community School Board on Monday night welcomed three new board members and one re-elected board member. The new members are Adam Patterson, Bruce Mark and Marlin Pruismann along with re-elected member Roxanne Anderson. Each of the terms will be for four years. Anderson was elected board president for the 2013-14 school year with Pruismann to serve as vice president. The board also gave special recognition to retiring board members Randy Greenfield for two years of service, Kathy Pruismann for 13 years and Kim Schaa for 16 years on the school board. Each of the three board members received placques for their years by superintendent Larry Frakes.

Superintendent Frakes informed the board of a special meeting on Monday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m.with Larry Sigel of the Iowa School Finance Information Service on the future financial direction of the Northeast Hamilton district due to its declining enrollment situation. Residents are invited to attend this meeting.

A fund raising request for a trip to London and Paris in the summer of 2015 was approved by the board. This summer seven Northeast Hamilton students enjoyed a trip to Greece and Italy.
