League of Women Voters Tuesday Straw Poll results

 Visitors to the Hamilton County Fair are invited to stop by the Hamilton County League of Women Voters booth at the Ed Prince Building to participate in this year's Straw Poll. Here are the results of Tuesday vote...

1. Are you in favor of a proposed "one strike law" aimed at sex offenders law in Iowa? 29 voted yes with 1 voting no.

2. Does the State of Iowa have adequate gun registration laws? 15 yes and 15 no votes.

3. Doest the Iowa Legislature need to readdress water quality issues? 22 voted yes while 8 voted no.

4. Should the Iowa Department of Education continue to require that cursive handwriting be taught? 24 voted yes while 6 voted no.

5. Should there be stiffer penalties for Cyber Bullying? 28 voted yes with 2 voting no.

While at the booth you can learn more about the League of Women Voters in Hamilton County, be a member of the league and register to vote in upcoming elections. The booth is open every day during the Hamilton County Fair.
