Hamilton County Treasurer Deb Leksell to retire December 31st,2012

After serving the residents of Hamilton County for 26 years, Deb Leksell announced Tuesday morning her retirement as Hamilton County Treasurer. Leksell's last day on the job will be December 31,2012. Leksell read her letter of retirement to the Hamilton County Board of Supervisors at their board meeting. Leksell served on the executive board and as president of the Iowa State County Treasurer's Association. She told the board on some of the accomplishments with the driver's license service, the Iowa State County Treasurers's website as a vehicle for electronic collection of taxes on the individual, portfolio and escrow accounts and motor vehicle renewals. Leksell thanked the people of Hamilton County for their support and her office staff. She also recommended Shari Vermett to be her successor. Vermett has 27 years of service to Hamilton County. She currently serves  as the tax and driver's license supervisor in the Treasurer's office. The Hamilton County Supervisors plan to accept applications for the position of Hamilton County Treasurer with the public having the opportunity to call for a special election if need be.
