Hamilton County sees a drop in unemployment in March.

 Officials with Iowa Workforce Development reported that the unemployment rate for Hamilton County in March dipped to 6.5 percent. In February the rate was at 7.3 percent. Last month there were 6,040 people employed while 300 people were without work. Iowa's unemployment rate for March was at 4.9 percent down from the February rate of 5.0. The unemployment rates for surrounding counties in March included Boone County at 4.5 percent,Franklin County at 5.2 percent,Hardin County at 5.8 percent, Story County at 3.6 percent, Webster County at 6.3 percent and Wright County at an even 5 percent rate.
