Further details behind Tuesday's bus accident in Webster City.

 Webster City Police on Wednesday released further information regarding the accident involving a HARIDES bus in the 800 block of Second Street on Tuesday morning. Reportedly the 2008 Eldo Aerotech bus operated by 61 year old Terry Worthen of Webster City was traveling westbound at the time when it crossed the center line into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a west bound 2000 Chevrolet Venture van driven by Jose Torres also of Webster City. The bus continued across the on coming lane of traffic and onto the parking area striking a light pole. The bus then traveled southwest until it struck a parked 2002 Volkswagon  with the owner unknown. Police reported the bus finally stopped when it struck the northeast corner of a house at 822 Second owned by Gordon Elbert of Blairsburg. Worthen and six passengers inside the bus, Pedro Sosa, Alexis Villalobos, Ana Villalobos, Luis Celis, Carol Merida,and Raily Merida all of Webster City were taken to Van Diest Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Torres escaped injury in Tuesday's accident. Based on observations from on scene officers and witnesses,all indications are that Worthen was experiencing some medical symptoms just prior to the accident.
