Fort Dodge Police investigating bank robbery and terrorist threat to a school on Thursday.

 The Federal Bureau of Investigation has joined the Fort Dodge Police Department into the investigation of a school threat Thursday and a bank robbery a short time later. The incident happened at about 9:00 Thursday morning when a phone call was received at Feelhaver School at 1300 14th Avenue North. The caller threatened to "shoot up the school". Officers responded to the school  to secure the school  and investigate the incident. Fort Dodge Schools immediately followed their protocol to provide additional security in all the Fort Dodge schools. The coordination and partnership in providing a safe environment for the students is commendable. At about 9:16, Fort Dodge Police and the Webster County Sheriff's Department  responded to a report of a robbery that had just occured at the Citizen's State Bank in Fort Dodge. Witnesses and evidence at the scene indicated a lone male subject entered the business and demanded money. No weapons were shown during the robbery. The employees complied with the demands, surrendering an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect fled on foot and has not been located at this time. There were no injuries. Police are trying to determine if the threat at Feelhaver school and the bank robbery are tied together.Based upon the investigation and in working with Fort Dodge Schools,Fort Dodge Police are confident that there is no threat to the students at Feelhaver or any other Fort Dodge Schools.The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has also been called in to investigate.
