Clarion City Council discusses airport hangar plans.

 This week the Clarion city council approved an application for Federal Assistance to construct a 100 by 80 foot conventional hangar at the Clarion Municipal Airport. A resolution for an airport engineering services contract for the construction of the hangar was also approved. The contract will be reviewed at a future meeting. The council approved a resolution relating to finance the proposed projects to be undertaken by the city establishing compliance with reimbursement bond regulations under the Internal Revenue Code not to exceed $7,150,000 for the 2013 housing development,highway turn lane project and signalization and for next year's wastewater treatment facility project.

The Clarion council set the date of August 5 for a public hearing on action to institute proceedings to enter into a loan and disbursement agreement in a principal amount not to exceed $250,000.The loan is to help pay costs to the municipal sanitary sewer system.

Cindy Riley was appointed to serve on the Clarion Library Board for a six year term. A contract was awarded to Chosen Valley Testing for the Exploratory Soil Boring in an amount of $3,830. The council approved a sign permit to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. A garbage haulers permit was approved for Bell Recyling.
