City of Clarion receives D.O.T. funding for Highway 3 project.

 The Iowa Transportation Commission approved state funding for a project in Clarion. The city won up to 127 thousand dollars to make upgrades to Highway 3 to improve access to Hagie Manufacturing Company. The project is to help create 50 new fulltime jobs along with 22 million in associated capital investment. Construction includes a 400 foot turn lane on Highway 3. Hagie Manufacturing makes crop sprayers. The grant is part of the Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy program better known as RISE. Similar grants were awarded to the cities of Allison and Ottumwa.
