Brown to speak at Inaugural Preserve Iowa Summit next month.

 Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Deb Brown will be one of the featured speakers at the first annual Preserve Iowa Summit. The meeting will be held August 22 to 24 in Burlington. Brown will be speaking on using both online and offline marketing tools to promote your business, site and location. The conference next month is expected to draw prominent and knowledgeable preservation experts from Iowa and across the United States. The speakers will share their best practices and offer valuable insight, advice and training on topics ranging from preservation and place making to partnerships and planning.  The Preserve Iowa Summit, which will take the place of the Iowa Downtown Summit, Statewide Historic Preservation Conference and the Preservation Awards Dinner,will be the only statewide annual conference for professionals and volunteers involved in preservation and historic commercial district revitalization in Iowa. The conference provides opportunities for attendees to make new connections, hear about the latest trends, acquire practical information and ideas and learn strategies that are relevant to rural, mid-sized and urban communities and urban districts.Next month's summit is a coordinated effort of the Iowa Economic Development Authority's Iowa Downtown Resource Center, Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs' State Historic Preservation Office and Preservation Iowa.
