A 38 year old Boone motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon as the result of an accident involving his motorcycle and an SUV. The Boone County Sheriff's Department identified the victim as Clinton W. Marxen. The accident happened in the 600 block of Nature Road north of Boone. Reportedly Marxen was traveling north bound on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle when it crossed the center line hitting a southbound 2000 Ford Explorer SUV driven by 37 year old Anna Richards also of Boone. The impact started a fire. Richards was reportedly pinned in the front seat with a foot injury and unable to get the front door of her SUV open. She was then able to get free and into the back seat area and out the back door crawling into the ditch to get away from the flames. Richards received minor injuries. She was taken to the Boone County Hospital for treatment.  Marxen was pronounced dead at the scene of Friday's accident. The investigation is continuing.
