Lego Fun Club
"Lego Fun Club" is for kids 5 years and up, at Kendall Young Library, 1201 Willson Ave, Webster City, IA. This event will be held from now to May 28, 2013, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, on the last Tuesday of every month. There will be themes and treats. Creations will be on display at KYL. There will be a Memorial Ride in honor of, SGT. J.J. Bonnell, held on Saturday, May 25th, 2013. The costs will be $20.00 per Biker, $15.00 per Rider, which includes a meal. Sign up at VFW in Fort Dodge, Iowa from 9:00 am to Noon. The first stop will be J.J.'s gravesite, and the last stop to be at Amigo's in Fort Dodge. All proceeds go to the "SGT. J.J Bonnell Scholarship Fund" at St. Edmond and Fort Dodge Senior High.

Webster City Community Theatre and The Old Creamery Theatre in Amana, Iowa, have teamed up to bring Camp Creamery, a week-long theatre workshop for children, to Webster City this summer. This camp is for any student from 1st grade through 12th grade. The camp runs from July 29th through August 2nd, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm daily at the WCCT Performing Arts Center, located at 1001 Willson Ave. Performances will be held for family and friends on August 2nd and 3rd for a small admission fee. Campers must be committed to attend each day of camp and all performances. Campers need to bring a sack lunch and water bottle to camp each day. The non-refundable camp fee is $30.00. There is a maximum of 35 campers for the session. A minimum number of scholarships will be available for campers who need financial assistance to attend. T-shirts are available for $8.50 and can be purchased for $8.50 in advance, or $10.00 at the end of camp. Casady Brothers Implement of Webster City and Fox River Mills of Osage, present the first annual "Hamilton County Fair Hoof 'N Huff 5K" being held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. This walk/fun-run begins at 8:00 am, with same day registration and packet pick-up starting at 7:00 am. There are registration forms available at Fuller Hall or on-line registration at active.com. The registration fee is $20.00 up to May 15th. Registration fee includes: Dri-Fit Hoof 'N Huff t-shirt and post race refreshments. After May 15th, the registration will be $25.00. Memorial Day services will be conducted by the Williams Legion Post 633 on Monday, May 27, 2013, at 9:30 am at the Williams Veterans Memorial in City Park. Guest speaker will be Arvid Husimann, Director of Developement and Communications for the Salvation Army of Des Moines. He is also a past graduate of Northeast Hamilton School, and an author who writes "Country Roads" for the Freeman Journal. The Community Choir, under the direction of Sally Greenfield will sing patriot selections. Anyone wishing to be a part of the choir is asked to meet at 8:30 am on Monday, May 27th, at the Methodist Church. The services will continue after the program at the Williams and Blairsburg cemetaries. Veterans Museum in Williams

This year, the Renwick Memorial Day Services will be Honoring the Veterans we have lost in the last year. The services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Monument, located on Main Street in Renwick, Iowa, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. In case of inclement weather, the services will be held at the Fire Shed. Refreshments available for morning and noon. ISU Extension and Outreach: Annie's Project
Annie's Project is designed to empower farmwomen to manage information systems used in critical decision making processes and to build local networks throughout the state. The target audience is farmwomen with a passion for business and involvement. Farm women will receive training for managing information in the areas of: Financial Records, Production Records, Marketing Plans and Risk Management, Legal/Regulatory Records and Documanetation, and Human Resources and Time Management. This women's empowerment program will be offered in six sessions fro 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on June 4th, June 6th, June 11th,18th,25th, and July 2nd. Cost of the program is $75.00 per person and class size is limited. Participants should contact Susan Scmitz at the Hamilton County Extension office at 515-832-9597, prior to May 30, 2013, to enroll. Webster City American Legion Post 191 will be starting the Memorial Day Services at 8:45 am at the Marshall Crippen Bridge on North Des Moines Street for those who were lost at sea. At 9:15 am, the service will continue on to Cass Cemetary conducted by the VFW Post 5724 and American Legion Post 191. Parade formation is in the 700 block of Second Street, north alley parking lot. The parade proceeds south on Des Moines Street and at 11:00 am, the service will be at Graceland Cemetary, by Post 191. In event of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the Jefferson Gym beginning at 10:30 am. Festival in the Park - Ride and Show
During the Festival in the Park, The North Central Iowa American Legion Riders Latimer Post 658 invite you to Ride in the Bike Show on June 8th, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Little Willies on Main Street in Clairion, Iowa. During the Festival in the Park, there is going to be a Mud Volleyball Tournement. This will take place at 424 1st Ave SW in Clarion, Iowa. Registration for this event will be on June 8th from 12:00 noon to 12:30 pm. The first game starts at 12:30 pm. There is a $40.00 entry fee for a team of 6 people and is limited to 12 teams. The American Legion Auxilary will be collecting money in exchange for Poppies, on Friday, May 24, 2013. The poppies will be available for a donation at Fareway, HyVee and K Mart. The Memorial Poppy is never sold, but given in exchange for a contribution. Clarion Coin Club Meeting
The Clarion Coin Club meets the fourth Thursday of the month, every month, and does not take off time in the summer. The next session is Thurday, May 23rd, at 6:00 pm at the Pizza Ranch in Clarion. The items are on display from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The live auction starts at 7:00 pm. You do not have to be a club member to bid or to consign.
