Court Appointed Special Advocates Needed - volunteer positions only
The Iowa Child Advocacy Board is now taking applications for volunteer advocates for the CASA program in Hamilton, Webster, Wright, Calhoun, Pocahontas and Humboldt counties. A CASA is a "Court Appointed Special Advocate" who serves as the voice of a child who has been abused or neglected. CASA responsibilities include visiting the child every month, communicating what they observe both verbally and in writing, and making recommendations to the court about what is best for the child. The ability to keep commitments is essential. Training is provided. This is an opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of Iowa children. To learn more about becoming a CASA, please contact Crystal Engstrom, this area's Program Coordinator, at 866-923-1088.
