Clarion Wellness & Rehabilitation Monthly Support Group for Caregivers
Clarion Wellness & Rehabilitation Center is hosting a monthly support group for caregivers. It is jointly sponsored by the facility, the Alzheimer's Association, Iowa Hospice, and Wright County Public Health and Hospice. Meetings are held at the facility every second Thursday of the month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The support group is for those that are caregivers to someone in a care facility or for those living in their home. Clarion Wellness & Rehabilitation Center's Activities Department will be providing entertainment for your loved one during the meeting. Clarion Wellness & Rehabilitation Center is located at 110 13th Ave. S.W. If you have questions please call Carla Kem at 515-532-2893.
Grief Support Group
A Grief Support Group, for anyone who has ever experienced a loss of a loved one, is being offered to anyone in the community wanting to participate. This Support Group will be offered 3 times per year -- February and March, June and July, September and October. They will also present a 3 week class, "Surviving the Holidays" in November.
The support group will be held on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in the Stephen Ministry Room of First Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 1000 Willson Avenue, in Webster City, Iowa. This room is accessible via and elevator or stairway to the basement of the church. The support group is non-denominational -- anyone needing a grief support group is invited to attend.
You can enroll in a support group by calling the church office at 515-832-2232, and by giving your name and phone number. The first group begins on February 2, 2014.
Spring Wildflower Walk
Hardin County Conservation will be offering the "Spring Wildflower Walk" again on Saturday, April 26, 214. The event is being held at the Hardin City Woodland, from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon. The walk will be led by Calkins Nature Area Staff and Ellsworth Community College, Conservation Tech Instructor, Nancy Slife. Dress for the weather and plan on walking off trails, so wear closed toe shoes and long pants, possibly long sleeves and a jacket.
The address for Hardin City Woodland is 30721 170th Street, Ackley, Iowa. If you don't know how to get to Hardin City Woodland, you can follow Calkins Nature Area Staff; we will be meeting in the Iowa Falls Old Theisens parking lot, next to Hy-Vee, on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 9:15 am and will be leaving at 9:30 am.

American Legion Post 191 Fish Fry
American Legion Post 191 will be hosting a "Fish Fry", this Saturday, April 26th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm , or until it's all gone!
The menu will feature Alaska Pollock, cheesy potatoes, cole slaw, green beans, and bars. The meals is $8.00 per meal. All members, their guests, and veterans are welcome.
Concerned, Inc. Pancake Supper
Concerned, Inc. is sponsoring a Pancake Supper on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. This event takes place at the Memorial Hall in Eagle Grove from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The meal is being prepared by the Rowan Lion's Club, and it includes: eggs, pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee. Tickets are $6.00 and are available at the door.
Supplemental funding is provided by Thrivant Financial. The supper is being held to promote and help with funding the Eagle Grove Counseling Service.
Webster City Daycare Raffle
Webser City Daycare will be raffling off tickets for 2 mini iPads. They are selling tickets at Fareway Store in Webster City on Friday, April 25th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. You may also purchase tickets at Webster City Daycare before the deadline of Wednesday, April, 30th.Drawing for the winners will be on Thursday, May 1st, right here on KQWC! The tickets cost $5.00 each or 3 tickets for $10.00. Proceeds go towards renovations at the center.
