South Hamilton girls golf competes in Class 2A, Region 4A Tournament

The South Hamilton girls golf team made the trip south on Friday, to compete in the Class 2A, Region 4A Tournament at Lakeview Country Club in Winterset, hosted by the Van Meter Bulldogs. The Hawks were joined by the host Bulldogs, Des Moines Christian, Colo-NESCO/Colfax-Mingo, Chariton and Woodward-Granger.

It was a successful day on the course for the South Hamilton girls, as Miranda Deppe and Rebekah Carlson locked up top 6 finishes for the Hawks. Deppe finished 3rd with a score of 96, while Carlson placed 4th with a score of 102. Grace Young would place 14th with a score of 119, as fellow sophomore Abby Adamski placed 16th with a score of 122. Savanna Freeman and Erin Hasselbrock rounded out the South Hamilton lineup with scores of 135 and 147.

South Hamilton would place 2nd behind meet champions Van Meter, with a score of 439. Van Meter won with a score of 393, while Woodward-Granger finished 3rd with a score of 447. All 3 teams qualified for Wednesday’s Class 2A, Region 4 Finals at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center, hosted by West Marshall.
