Enhance Hamilton County Foundation announce opening of two new funds.

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation has announced the opening of two new funds to benefit Hamilton County and its residents. “We are very excited to announce that we have two new funds that will improve the quality of life for Hamilton County residents and those that are spending time in our County,” said Darcy Swon, Enhance Hamilton County Development Director. “Both of these funds provide charitable donors with a way to support more causes that they care about.”

The first fund is the Hamilton County Emergency Services Fund which will provide an opportunity for charitable donors to support program and capital needs of emergency services such as ambulance, fire and police that serve Hamilton County.

Currently two projects have been identified for donors to support through this fund.

The first is the Webster City Police Department K-9 program. Charitable donations received will be used for the initial dog/handler training, specialized equipment and funding to sustain the program through its first year for a total of $14,414. The City of Webster City has committed to funding the ongoing costs of the program.

The goal of the program is to reduce the flow of illegal drugs throughout Webster City, help located lost at-risk individuals, protect officers while apprehending fleeing suspects, and connect with our community through outreach and demonstrations.

The second project is for a new ambulance in Stratford which is due to arrive the end of 2022. The new ambulance will replace the outdated one and improve the efficiencies of the vehicle along with quality of care for those utilizing its services. Charitable donations will be used as matching funds to help secure grants to offset the cost of this project. Right now, monies are being sought for an ambulance cot that is $45,000 and a monitor which is $35,000.

More opportunities for charitable donors to support emergency services projects utilizing this new fund will be announced in the near future.

Check donations to support the new fund should be made out to the Hamilton County Emergency Services Fund and in the Memo line the project should be listed that the funds are to support. If nothing is in the memo line, the monies will go into a general sub-fund to be used where and when most needed.

The second fund recently opened is the Hamilton County Climate Mitigation Fund. This fund will support projects that assist the people and communities of Hamilton County in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through partnerships with others. This fund also seeks input from the

community regarding what projects the advisory committee should fund are welcomed. For more information on getting involved with this fund, please contact the Foundation office.

Check donations to the Hamilton County Climate Mitigation Fund can be made out to the fund name.

Donations to the funds mentioned above, or to any of the funds through the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation, can be sent to 501 Bank Street, Webster City, IA 50595.
