Webster City 2021 weather in review.

Webster City’s weather for 2021 proved to be rather interesting. February certainly was a cold one. For over 10 days between February 6 and 16, the mercury never made it above zero for afternoon highs.The thermometer finally made it above zero on the afternoon of February 16 when it was 6 degrees above zero.The coldest temperature in Webster City for the year was on the morning of February 16 when the mercury plummeted to 30 degrees zero.It was a new record low for the day breaking the previous record of 22 degrees below zero set on February 16,1958. The second lowest temperature for the month was 24 degrees below zero on February 15. There were 12 days in all of 2021 that the low temperatures in Webster City were at or below zero.
As for the heat, the date of Thursday, June 17 was Webster City’s hottest day with a high of 99 degrees.There were 12 days during 2021 that the temperatures were at or about 90 degrees in Webster City.
Severe weather outbreaks occurred on the late afternoon of July 14 with storm damage reported in the southwestern part of Hamilton County and near Kamrar. Another area of storms were reported the late night of Sunday, August 8 with high wind damage near the Duncombe area. The outbreak of severe weather last month on December 15 saw a record 43 tornadoes in Iowa with damage reported in southern Hamilton County, portions of Webster City and other nearby counties in the state.
Webster City’s total precipitation for 2021 ended up with 26.17 inches of rainfall with 25 inches of snowfall.
