Webster City girls fall to Carroll, 58-23

The Webster City Lynx girls basketball team hit the road for the first time in 2021-22 on Monday night, as they made the 90 minute journey south and west to Carroll to take on the Tigers. The Tigers won a thriller against the Lynx in Webster City last season, 42-40.

Monday night was a different story, as the Tigers jumped out of the gates fast and never looked back at the Lynx. Carroll held a 17-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, and continued to keep Webster City at more than arms length for the remainder of the contest, in a 58-23 win.

Carroll was lead in scoring by Josie Ayala, who finished with a game-high 18 points in the Tigers season-opener. Freshman Katelyn Aden contributed 10 points, including the only three-pointer from either team in the game. Reese Casey was the leading scorer for the Lynx with 6 points.

Webster City will be back in action on Tuesday, November 30th, with the first Girls/Boys doubleheader, as the Lynx travel to Pocahontas Area.
