Thanksgiving Day means a number of closings for the day and in some cases for the weekend.

This Thursday will mark Thanksgiving Day in north central Iowa. There will be many businesses closed for the holiday with the exception of a few convenience stores and gas stations. All professional offices and financial institutions will be closed Thursday. The Hamilton County courthouse, all county offices and the Webster City municipal building will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving weekend to reopen again on Monday, November 29. Fuller Hall will be closed Thursday to reopen again Friday at the regular time. There will be no city or rural delivery of mail Thursday. Webster City’s post office box lobby will be open for box holders but the customer service center will be closed.Mail service will resume on Friday. Kendall Young Library will close at 3:00 Wednesday afternoon for the Thanksgiving period and will reopen on Monday,November 29 at 10:00 a.m. All area school districts will be dismissed for the Thanksgiving weekend by letting out early Wednesday afternoon with classes to resume on November 29. KQWC’S business will be closed Thursday but will reopen again on Friday at 8:00 a.m.
