Eagle Grove hosted Mason City Newman on Tuesday night, in hopes of finally getting into the win column in 2021. Unfortunately, the Eagles fell short as the Knights brought home a 3-0 sweep of the Eagles on Tuesday.
Newman took set 1 by a score of 25-17, as the Eagles showed plenty of fight in the opening set. The Knights, however, dominated in Set 2, as they took a 2-0 lead with a 25-10 win in the 2nd set. Eagle Grove did push Newman to the brink in set 3, before the Knights were able to close out a 25-22 win, to earn a 3-0 sweep.
The Eagles fell to 0-20 with the loss, but will have a great shot at fighting for a win on Thursday, as they face the 1-13 Rockets of Paton-Churdan, members of the Rolling Valley Conference.
