Webster City cross country competes in Ballard Invitational

The Webster City Lynx cross country teams made the trek south to Huxley on Monday to compete in the Ballard Invitational at the Huxley Country Club. The Lynx girls competed in the A Class with Class 4A #18 Indianola, Class 3A #2 Dallas Center-Grimes, 3A #4 Carlisle and 3A #12 Pella.

The Lynx finished 11th with a team score of 305. The top placer for the Lynx girls was junior Emma Peck, who finished 43rd in a time of 24:48. The 2nd-highest placer was senior Jacie Crutcher, who finished 61st in a time of 26:14.

The Webster City boys also competed in Class A, with foes such as Class 3A #1 Dallas Center-Grimes, 3A #4 Pella, 3A #9 ADM, 3A #12 Carlisle, and 3A #19 Winterset. The Lynx finished 10th with a team score of 279. The top place for the Lynx was senior Jose Ramirez, who finished 20th in a time of 18:35. The 2nd-highest finished was senior Cole Reiling, who finished 39th in a time of 19:25.
