South Hamilton volleyball looks for a 2021 rebound

2020 was a year of new beginnings for South Hamilton volleyball, as first-year head coach Kayla Schaufenbuel took the reigns of the Hawks program. A 9-21 record is not what was envisioned, but the Heart of Iowa Conference proves to be a one of the tougher volleyball conferences in the state, year in and year out.

But a bounce-back season may be in store for South Hamilton volleyball as they return a number of key pieces in 2021. The Hawks return their top four kills leaders in seniors Taylor Remsburg, Caleigh Hewitt and Mackenzy Grady and junior Zoey Duns. The Hawks also return their top two assist leaders in seniors Paige Evans and Trista Strohman, who combined for 360 assists in 2020.

South Hamilton’s first regular season action will be at Roland-Story, in a quadrangular, on Monday, August 23rd.
