‘Luke Cage’ veteran Simone Missick to topline CBS legal drama ‘Courthouse’

David Lee/Netflix(LOS ANGELES) — Her popular Netflix series Luke Cage may have been short-lived, but Simone Missick is back with a brand new series.

In an new Instagram post, Missick wrote “Whatever Lola wants…,” captioning an image of a report about the new CBS legal drama pilot Courthouse.

“I’m SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!!,” she continued. “Let me tell you how GOOD GOD IS! Last night I was filming until 2am in Vancouver, and this morning I flew to LA to start day 1 of ‘COURTHOUSE’ written by Greg Spottiswood, directed by Mike Robin, and starring lil’ ole ME!”

She added, “I feel so extremely blessed and thankful to be working with this incredible team.”

According to Deadline, the potential series follows the lives of “dedicated, chaotic, hopeful and sometimes absurd” judges, assistant district attorneys and public defenders in the Los Angeles justice system.

Missick is set to play Lola, a deputy district attorney who’s appointed to the bench. Her character is known for “being impulsive and intimidating with an independent streak.”

Missick’s casting news comes after the former super-powered cop was added to the second season of Netflix’s Altered Carbon with Anthony Mackie.
