A new trial date has been set for the man accused in the murder of a Webster City woman last September. 32 year old Zackery Bassett is accused of first degree murder in the death of 50 year old Andrea Sokolowski on September 22,2018. Bassett called Webster City Police that Sokolowski was not breathing. Sokolowski was taken to Van Diest Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Bassett was arrested on November 14,2018 in St. Joseph,Missouri by authorities. He pleaded not guity to the murder charge last December 10. Bassett remains in the Hamilton County Jail on a cash bond of $500,000. The Iowa Courts website stated that the jury trial for Bassett is tentatively set for October 29,2019 in Hamilton County District Court at 9:00. The date was set on Friday. The trial was originally set for March 5.
