*NSYNC’s Lance Bass planning road trip comedy about the group’s super fans

J. Shearer/WireImageWith the news that the Jonas Brothers have reunited, pretty much every major boy band of the last 20 years is now back together — except *NSYNC. While a reunion doesn’t appear to be happening any time soon, a movie is in the works.

Variety reports that *NSYNC member Lance Bass is making a comedy about two girls who followed the boy band on the road during their final tour. According to Lance, this actually happened.

“It’s a really fun story about these girls that win a Winnebago on The Price is Right and follow us on tour — which randomly happened,” Lance tells Variety.

According to Lance, the girls auditioned for the game show in order to win the RV, just so they could travel around attending all the shows on the group’s Celebrity tour.

After winning the Winnebego, the girls themselves became semi-celebrities, and were even featured in a special about the tour. In that special, Lance told the girls that he and the group would pay for the taxes they owed on the RV.

Lance says he hopes that after the movie is made, it becomes a Broadway musical, but it’s unclear if *NSYNC’s hits will be featured in either of those projects.

Meanwhile, Lance’s production company is about to premiere a documentary at the South by Southwest film festival called The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story. It’s about the shady impresario who guided the careers of *NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys and other acts, nearly all of whom ended up suing him. Pearlman was eventually convicted of fraud and money laundering, among other charges, and died in prison in 2016.
