ABC/Rick RowellAdam Levine and his wife, model Behati Prinsloo, seem like a match made in heaven, but it was really more like a match made over email.
Behati dishes on how she and Adam fell in love in a new interview with NET-A-PORTER’s weekly digital magazine, PorterEdit. She says she found out through a mutual friend that Adam was looking for a girl to be in one of Maroon 5‘s music videos, so the two began exchanging emails.
“I ended up not doing it, but we kept emailing each other,” she says. “It was such a natural correspondence that we kind of fell in love over email.”
They didn’t meet in person until a month later, when she went to L.A. for a job.
“I remember walking in: I opened the door, and it was the classic moment where the light shines into the dark studio and everyone turned to look at me,” she says. “He had boxing gloves on and he came to hug me – it was so awkward.”
She continues, “Then he took me for dinner and we talked for hours and had the best time. It was love at first sight, it was crazy. We broke up for two months, realized that it was the worst decision, then got back together, got engaged and got married. It was a wild ride!”
The two were married in 2004 and now have two daughters together: two-year-old Dusty Rose and Gio Grace, who’s nearly one.
