The South Hamilton Community School Board on Monday evening reappointed Joely Swenson as board president for the 2018-19 school year. Nikki Struchen was named as board vice president. Struchen was also appointed as the Iowa Association of School Board delegate for the Legislative Assembly this November in Des Moines. The board approved the continuation of meetings on the second Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the middle school/high school board room. Rick Engel was appointed as legal counsel for the South Hamilton school board and district. An equipment bid from KC Nielsen for $36,900 for a John Deere 1575 Terrain Cut with comfort cab commercial front mower less mower deck with recommended attachments was approved.
Salary schedule lane changes were approved for Leah Consier, LaRonna Bahr, Julie Ullestad, Stacy Thompson, Alison Hassebrock and Carlton Ness. The South Hamilton board members learned that the new lighting project will be completed by this Friday with the storm sewer repairs are in progress. Two 28-E agreements were approved by the South Hamilton board. The first one was with the Woodward-Granger Community School District for the Grandwood Special Education Instructional Program. The second agreement was with the Woodward-Granger Community School District for the payment of the Woodward Academy Dayschool Program Costs.
