“Kinda organic:” Hailee Steinfeld and Florida Georgia Line on teaming up for “Let Me Go”

ABC/Kelsey McNealSuperstar country duo Florida Georgia Line is having quite the pop star moment: Their song with Bebe Rexha, “Meant to Be,” is a top-10 hit, and their song with Hailee Steinfeld, watt and Alesso, “Let Me Go,” is rising on the airplay charts.  Hailee says working with the duo has made her even more of a country music fan than she already was.

“I mean, I have a ton of respect for country artists and I think it’s incredible that Florida Georgia Line is sort of making a crossover,” Hailee told ABC Radio.  She’s also happy that the song brought her and FGL together.

“Florida Georgia Line and I met over this song and it has been amazing,” she gushes. “And performing it with them is a dream and I’m very excited to be on a record with…them.”

Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley says the way the song came together is “kinda magical.”

“We heard the demo, we knew it was a smash and felt like it was kinda time sensitive at the same time, like ‘Hey, that needs to get out right now,’ so we all got on it,” he tells ABC Radio.

Brian further says the process was “kinda organic,” adding, “it’s cool to just kinda pass it around and see how it happened…[it’s an] awesome song, man.”

In addition to Bebe and Hailee, Florida Georgia Line have also collaborated with the likes of Nelly, The Chainsmokers, the Backstreet Boys, Ziggy Marley, and Jason Derulo.  Their next album, due out later this year, may have even more collaborations on it.
