Lorde dares you to “touch our rush” in new song, “Sober”

LAVA/Republic RecordsAs promised, Lorde has delivered a new song from her upcoming sophomore album, Melodrama. The track is called “Sober,” and it’s available for download now on all digital outlets.

According to the New Zealand musician, the inspiration for “Sober” first came when she was riding in an Uber, and then “properly” while sitting at Jack Antonoff and Lena Dunham‘s kitchen table, after which she “bolted” to the studio.

“I’ll never forget writing the first demo it was like a trance I guided Jack to the chords almost wordlessly with my hands on his shoulders,” Lorde says.

Melodrama, which also features the lead single “Green Light,” will be released June 16.
